This year they ran this race on the USU cross country course. Sounded fun and they have good age group prizes, and it is for a good cause. My age group is "over 35" but I didn't see anyone else there who looked over 35. It was kind of a low turnout, too bad as it was a beautiful day and fun to run cross country. Blogger Joe (predog) and Conner were running, and Rob was there to cheer us on. The gun went off and Conner was gone. I think he might be part gazelle or cheetah. Joe was gone too, and one other guy. Then there was me and two guys. This was a crazy triple loop hairpinned course over gravel, grass, dirt, mud, and tire tracks. I couldn't reproduce the run if I had to, but with enough people at corners, cones and flags we managed to stay on course. I slipped into (I think) 4th way behind the lead runners. Just before the finish one of the two guys in our little pack blazed by me. My garmin measured it at 2.98 and Joe's said 2.99 so I think it might have been short, but garmins can also go crazy with hairpin turns, and both Joe and I have the old 205 series, so who knows. I have new respect for cross country after running this thing. Great fun though. Afterwards Conner, Joe and I ran a short cool down then collected my first place award of a pizza pie cafe gift card. I wonder how much money is on it?

Wow, you took the double win with that. I also got a card, but haven't gone yet. How much was on yours?
